ALETH THERESE L. DACANAY, PH.D
Aleth Therese L. Dacanay, PhD received her degrees in Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, Master of Science in Pharmacy, and Doctor of Philosophy Major in Pharmacy at the University of Santo Tomas. She is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Program Lead for Pharmacy and Medical Technology Cluster of the Graduate School, University of Santo Tomas. She was recently elected as the Executive Vice president of the Philippine Pharmacists Association, Inc., where she will serve on the board from 2020-2022. Prof. Dacanay is also recognized as a leader in pharmacy education circles. She is concurrently serving as the Immediate Past President of the Philippine Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and was a former member of the Continuing Professional Development Council for Pharmacy of the Professional Regulation Commission. Prof. Dacanay is one of the members of the Faculty of Pharmacy who were recognized by the Philippine Pharmacists’ Association for their contributions to pharmacy practice in the country. She was feted as the Most Outstanding Pharmacist in the Academe in 2017 and awarded as the 2018 PRC MOST OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL IN THE FIELD OF PHARMACY granted by the Professional Regulation Commission. Currently, Prof. Dacanay is the Chairperson of the CHED Technical Panel for Pharmacy Education.
Prof. Dacanay’s research interests focuses on Research and Development of Dosage Forms, Quality Control and Quality Assurance, Stability Studies and Pharmaceutical Kinetics, Research on Toxicology & Pharmacology of Natural Products, Bioefficacy Studies & Clinical trials, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Social Pharmacy, and others.
